US energy corporation Chevron posted a 16.3% net loss during the first quarter of 2024, according to its financial results statement released on Friday.
The company earned around $5.5 billion in the first quarter this year, compared to $6.5 billion in the same quarter last year.
Chevron had recorded nearly $2.2 billion in profit during the fourth quarter of 2023.
The revenue for the January–March period reached around $48.7 billion, compared to $50.7 billion for the same quarter of 2023.
The company's fourth-quarter 2023 revenue totaled $47.1 billion.
