Türkiye's oil imports down 9.7% in June 2024

- Crude oil's share in energy imports fall in June of 8% to 2.84 million tons, latest data shows

Türkiye's total oil imports decreased by 9.7% to 4.35 million tons in June 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Friday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, decline by 8% in June to 2.84 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in June, totaling 1.62 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 327,151 tons and 290,683 tons, respectively.

Oil refinery product exports increased by 23.6% to 1.28 million tons.

Additionally, domestic oil product sales increased by 7.2% year over year in June to 2.92 million tons.
