Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.28% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 923,543 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Electricity production reached 925,942 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.14% increase compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 43,244 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,801 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.08% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 22.09% share while hydropower plants comprised 18.20%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,624 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,225 megawatt-hours.
