Türkiye's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports showed a year-over-year increase of 46.1% in May to 320,670 tons, according to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority's LPG Market Sector Report on Friday.
Refinery and distributor license holders in the country imported the largest quantities of LPG from Algeria, the US, Russia, Kazakhstan and Nigeria.
LPG exports by refineries and distributor license holders fell to 11,493 tons in May, down by 64.3% year over year.
Exports were made to the Marshall Islands, Bulgaria, Jordan, Greece, Romania, the Turkish Free Zones and Lebanon.
LPG production totaled 74,330 tons in May, marking a 24.5% decline compared to the same month last year.
Total LPG sales made by the distributor license holders in May reached 367,035 tons.
With a market share of 80.7%, autogas ranked top in sales, followed by LPG cylinder sales at 14.8% and bulk LPG sales at 4.4%.
