Turkey's energy watchdog grants 14 new licenses

- Turkey's energy watchdog granted licenses to 14 energy companies, while cancelling 20 licenses

Turkey's energy watchdog licensed 14 energy companies, while cancelling 20 licenses, according to the official gazette published on Saturday.

Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) gave six licenses for electricity generation, two for liquefied natural gas (LNG), 4 oil and 2 natural gas licenses.

Meanwhile 10 electricity generation, two LPG, five oil and three natural gas licenses were cancelled by EMRA, as the companies did not reach the requirements. Also EMRA reapproved one electricity generation license to continue to produce power.

EMRA's core responsibility is to regulate energy, oil, natural gas, electricity, petroleum and LPG markets in the country.
