Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority, EMRA, announced Sunday it will launch a database system, Energy Atlas, to support investors of energy market.
Energy Atlas Geographic Information System will provide geographic information to the electricity generation in terms of ensuring security of supply and energy efficiency, according to a written statement by the authority.
The system will be composed of geographic information produced within the public institutes.
'Energy Atlas will help the energy market in site selection and determining investments,' said Mustafa Yilmaz, the head of the Turkish Energy Regulatory Market in the statement.
'It will also be used for supervision of investments by electricity and gas distribution companies, more secure and effectively.' he added.
The system will also serve publicly in a website for the use of investors and individual customers.
