Turkey's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports increased by 1.2 percent to 299,029 tons in August 2016 compared to the same month last year, according to a report by Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) released Tuesday.
Imports to Turkey came from seven different countries in August 2016 - Algeria, Norway, Russia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Angola and France.
Turkey's total LPG production decreased by 5.2 percent to over 79,262 tons in August 2016 compared to the same month of 2015.
However, its LPG exports rose by 125 percent to 12,602 tons in August. Among the countries which imported the highest LPG volumes from Turkey were Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the U.S., according to the report.
In Turkey, total sales of LPG hit 381,638 tons including 298.6 thousand tons of auto gas, 72.3 thousand tons of bottled LPG and 10.6 thousand tons of bulk LPG.
