The Luxembourg special fund FP Lux Investments S.A. SICAV-SIF announced on Monday that the fund has purchased the partially-constructed Sandbostel wind farm in the German state of Lower Saxony from RWE Innogy.

According to the announcement, the fund will offer institutional investors the opportunity to invest in photovoltaic and wind power plants across Europe starting with an investment sum of €5 million ($5.65 million).

The construction on the wind farm in Sandbostel, Lower Saxony, began in spring and is being headed by RWE Innogy.

'There will be five Enercon E-92 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.35 megawatts each which will be connected to the grid as early as the end of October,' the announcement said.

The total installed capacity in Sandbostel will be approximately 12 MW. RWE Innogy will be responsible for conducting the final works at Sandbostel and the subsequent technical management of the systems.

RWE Innogy is a German utility company and RWE's subsidiary in the field of renewable energies.

The FP Lux Group holds a volume of approximately 400 MW of wind and solar projects in Germany and in other European countries.
