Turkiye's wind electricity generation hit all-time record on Friday, generating 22.67% of total power, according to data from Turkiye's Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
The country produced 189,258 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity from wind farms on Friday, according to data provided by TEIAS.
The latest record was on Dec. 10 last year when the country produced 187,598 MWh of electricity from wind farms.
Wind plants were followed by lignite and natural gas plants with 15.81% and 15.26% contribution to electricity production, respectively.
Meanwhile, total electricity production amounted to 834,721 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 4.7% decrease compared to Thursday.
Daily electricity consumption in the country also decreased by 4.2% totaling 840,833 megawatt-hours on Friday compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,171 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,471 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
On Friday, Turkiye's electricity exports amounted to 8,439 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 14,549 megawatt-hours.
