BSW failed to secure seats in parliament during general elections on Feb. 23

BERLIN/ISTANBUL

Germany's Constitutional Court rejected a request by the populist Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) party for a recount of Feb. 23 elections in which it failed to secure seats in the Bundestag.

The court announced its decision on Thursday evening.

The BSW has the right to appeal the election after the final results are announced.

The official final results will be announced by the Federal Election Committee on Friday.
