Harrison Ford says Trump’s climate policies ‘scare’ him, calls US president ‘greatest criminal in history’
Hollywood actor criticizes US president’s climate approach as ‘ignorance, hubris and purposeful subterfuge’

ISTANBUL
Hollywood actor Harrison Ford said that US President Donald Trump’s attacks on climate action terrify him, placing the president among history’s most serious wrongdoers.
Trump “doesn’t have any policies, he has whims. It scares the sh*t out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy,” Ford told The Guardian on Friday.
Calling the president “an instrument of the status quo,” he said that Trump is making money, hand over fist, “while the world goes to hell in a handbasket.”
“It’s unbelievable. I don’t know of a greater criminal in history,” Ford added.
Trump’s second-term agenda included withdrawing the US from the Paris Agreement, rolling back climate and clean air regulations, and pausing clean energy projects.
He promoted fossil fuel development and restricted government discussion of climate issues, urging other countries to relax their climate policies in favor of US energy exports.
A longtime environmental advocate, Ford said Trump opposes wind turbines “because he has just not seen a gold one” and called his approach to the climate crisis “a clear expression of ignorance, of hubris and purposeful subterfuge.”
Ford expressed hope that Trump’s fossil fuel-focused agenda would not succeed. “He’s losing ground because everything he says is a lie,” he said. “I’m confident we can mitigate against (climate change), that we can buy time to change behaviors, to create new technologies, to concentrate more fully on implementation of those policies.”
