The Israeli army rounded up 15 Palestinians in overnight raids carried out across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, a Palestinian NGO reported Thursday.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Society, seven Palestinians were arrested in the city of Nablus while another four were arrested in Ramallah and Hebron.

"Another three were detained in the town of Hizma east of Jerusalem,” the NGO added in a Thursday statement.

The Israeli army frequently conducts wide-ranging arrest campaigns in the occupied West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians.

According to Palestinian figures, more than 6,400 Palestinians -- including dozens of children -- are currently languishing in Israeli prisons.
