AFRIN, SYRIA - MARCH 24: Syrian children are seen on a pick up truck with their family's belongings as they return to their homes Afrin and Idlib, after Turkish Armed Forces and Free Syrian Army (FSA) took complete control of northwestern Syria's Afrin from PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and Daesh terror groups within the "Operation Olive Branch" on March 24, 2018. They had fled their homes due to oppression and cruelty of YPG/PKK terror groups following the area cleared of YPG/PKK terror groups. Since the launch of the operation, the Turkish military and FSA have liberated 253 locations, including 210 villages and 43 strategic mountains and hills. Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch on January 20 in Syria’s northwestern Afrin region; the aim of the operation is to establish security and stability along Turkish borders and the region as well as to eliminate PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and Daesh terror groups, and protect the Syrian people from the oppression and cruelty of terrorists.
