Finishing Formula One 1st or 2nd not going to change my life: Verstappen
Dutch driver says he enjoys what he is doing whether he comes in first or second in championship
ANKARA
Dutch racing driver Max Verstappen said Thursday in an interview in Turkey that he is not overly concerned about his Formula One title fight and finishing first or second is not really going to change his life.
The 24-year-old said he and his team Red Bull Racing Honda always do their best and finishing the championship first would be an amazing achievement.
He added that if he finishes second, it would still be a great season.
"I enjoy what I’m doing, and that’s also very important. For me, there is not much to worry about really."
Verstappen said he and his team are very relaxed but also very focused and they will try to do their best in the Turkish Grand Prix this weekend.
Verstappen placed second behind Lewis Hamilton in the Russian Grand Prix on Sept. 26 despite starting the race from 20th place on the grid after being penalized for taking a new power unit.
He is currently in second spot in the driver standings with 244.5 points while Hamilton leads the table with 246.5 points.
