At least 15 people were killed and several others injured in a road crash in Kenya on Tuesday, an official said.
The collision between a bus and a passenger van at the Twin Bridge area along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway located in the southern Rift Valley region of Kenya claimed the lives of 15 individuals, Rift Valley police chief, Tom Odero, told reporters.
“The injured were rushed to Molo Sub-County Hospital. An investigation is underway to understand the factors that led to this tragedy,” he said.
In 2023, the East African country witnessed a staggering toll of over 3,900 lives lost in road crashes, as reported by Transport Minister Kipchumba Murkomen.
The causes behind these tragic accidents include reckless driving, speeding, poor infrastructure, and inadequate vehicle maintenance.
