KAMPALA, Uganda

Uganda's Rwakobo and Queen Elizabeth national parks, major safari destinations in the country, are attracting local and foreign tourists.

Rwakobo National Park, 300 kilometers (186 miles) from the capital Kampala, and Queen Elizabeth National Park, 400 kilometers away, offer visitors a variety of African wildlife.

In the wildlife areas, which are visited by many local and foreign tourists every year, visitors have a chance to see various wild animals such as African buffalo, Ugandan kobu, zebra, impala, hippopotamus, Nile crocodile, African savannah elephant, African leopard, lion and chimpanzee.

Queen Elizabeth National Park, southwest of Kampala, is home to 95 mammal species and more than 500 bird species.

The 1978 square kilometer (488,774 acres) national park, which is the country's most popular safari center, is visited by tourists who want to see many endangered animals.

In the park, which has lush vegetation, visitors riding safari vehicles can observe different species of animals.

Rwakobo National Park is also one of the first choices of safari enthusiasts. With an area of 260 square kilometers, the park offers unforgettable moments to adventure lovers.

Large and small lakes in the park, frequented by flocks of birds, are appreciated by visitors.

There are also accommodation facilities around the park for those who want to have a safari experience.
