Bahamas: Helicopter crash kills billionaire Republican donor
Coal tycoon Chris Cline reportedly dead in helicopter crash with 6 other Americans on board
ANKARA
Bahama police said Friday a helicopter that took off from Big Grand Cay island bound to the U.S. state of Florida has crashed, killing all seven Americans on board, including the billionaire coal tycoon and a Republican donor, Chris Cline.
Royal Bahamas Police Force in a statement said the authorities are probing the cause of the crash that happened on Thursday, and identified the victims as four women and three men, according to the Miami Herald.
Police said the bodies have been taken to the capital in Nassau to be officially identified.
Cline, who was known best for reviving the mining industry in the state of Illinois and making a fortune in the process, was also a major donor to Republican politicians.
