Biden says Israel losing support around world; Netanyahu has to change his government
Netanyahu 'has to strengthen and change' his government to 'find a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,' says US president
WASHINGTON
US President Joe Biden said Tuesday that Israel is losing support around the world and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "has to strengthen and change" his government.
Biden said Netanyahu had a “tough decision to make."
“This is the most conservative government in Israel’s history,” Biden said at a campaign fundraiser in Washington, adding that Netanyahu’s government “doesn’t want a two-state solution.”
He said Netanyahu "has to strengthen and change" his government to "find a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
The remarks came after Netanyahu admitted Tuesday that there is disagreement with Biden on “post-Hamas” Gaza Strip.
“Yes, there is a disagreement when it comes to ‘the day after Hamas,’ and I hope we will come to an agreement here too,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
