ESPN, FOX and Warner Bros. Discovery are forming a joint venture to launch a streaming sports service in the US.

The streaming platform aims to bring the companies' portfolios of sports networks together, and certain direct-to-consumer sports services and sports rights that include content from the major professional sports leagues and college sports, according to a joint statement released Tuesday.

The platform will include NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, college sports, UFC, PGA TOUR Golf, Grand Slam Tennis, the FIFA World Cup, cycling and more, it added.

"The launch of this new streaming sports service is a significant moment for Disney and ESPN, a major win for sports fans, and an important step forward for the media business," Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said in the statement.

FOX CEO Lachlan Murdoch said the service will bring sports content all in one place.

The head of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav said the platform will provide consumers and sports fans more choice and value.

The new service is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2024 and will be available directly to consumers through a new app.

Pricing will be announced at a later date.
