Harris, Walz kick off 2-day bus tour in US state of Georgia

WASHINGTON

US Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz kicked off a bus tour through Georgia on Wednesday, aiming to galvanize Black, young and rural voters in the crucial battleground state.

They stopped at Liberty County High School in the Savannah suburb of Hinesville, where they met students.

“Your generation, all that you guys stand for, everything you have at stake, is what is going to propel our country into the next era of what we can do and what we can be," Harris told them.

Their two-day tour will focus on areas that often receive little attention from Democratic candidates, highlighting the party's commitment to engaging voters across the state.

The trip will also feature Harris’ first major network interview since securing the Democratic nomination for president, scheduled for Thursday.
