Another "large group" of Americans is set to depart the besieged Gaza Strip on Friday after over 100 were able to leave the day prior, according to the White House.

Like prior groups, the latest will leave Gaza via the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters aboard Air Force One.

The US embassy in Cairo helped over 100 Americans and their family members after they left the strip on Thursday, Jean-Pierre said. An additional of Americans also left Thursday, but did not seek consular assistance from the embassy.

"We continue to be focused on getting as many Americans out as quickly as possible, and we expect more Americans to depart over the next several days," she said. "But of course, this is a fluid situation."

The White House said Thursday that between 1,000 and 1,200 US nationals remain in Gaza, including permanent residents, family members, and dual nationals.
