TRENTON, Canada

Canada’s national police force said Thursday that it is dealing with new threats against Jewish institutions.

Thursday’s threats mark the second day in a row after more than 100 threating emails were sent to a slew of Jewish organizations across the country on Wednesday, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said.

“The RCMP is responding to additional bomb threats being made to institutions across Canada today, including synagogues, museums, malls, ports, art galleries and more,” the force said in an X post Thursday. “All threats are being rapidly addressed in co-ordination with police of jurisdiction.”

While local police forces deal with the threats if they occurred in their city, the overall investigation is being handled through the RCMP. The force is also in touch with external police forces.

“We are working in close partnership with domestic and international police to identify the suspected individual(s) and disrupt their activities,” the RCMP said in another X post. “We will update on the status of our investigation when we can.”

Following Wednesday’s threats, investigations in the major cities of Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa found no explosive devices, police said.
