Two polls following President Donald Trump’s Tuesday night speech to a joint session of Congress showed broad public approval, according to the White House.

A joint poll by CBS News and YouGov found that 76% of viewers approved of the president’s address, said the White House on Wednesday.

Similarly, a poll by news channel CNN found that 69% of those who watched responded positively to the speech.

The White House also shared supportive comments from members of Trump’s Cabinet, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, along with Republican members of Congress.

Positive remarks from media figures about Trump’s speech were also highlighted.

The speech was Trump’s first to a joint session of Congress since he retook the White House in elections last fall.

Critics said the speech repeated numerous debunked talking points in an effort to distract from the chaos and extremism of Trump’s first month-and-a-half back in office.
