Trump announces Jon Voight, Mel Gibson Sylvester Stallone as Hollywood 'special envoys'
'They will serve as Special Envoys to me' bring Hollywood 'BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!' says US president-elect

WASHINGTON
US President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday that actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone will serve as "special envoys" for Hollywood.
"It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!" he wrote.
Celebrities overwhelmingly backed Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election in November, in which Trump won for a second term.
The announcement came amid wildfires that have killed at least 27 people and burned tens of thousands of acres in the Los Angeles area since last Tuesday.
The fires also burned the homes of many celebrities and displaced thousands of residents.
