Trump considers merging US Postal Service with Commerce Department
'I think it'll operate a lot better than it has been over the years. It's been just a tremendous loser for this country,' US president says

WASHINGTON
US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is considering merging the US Postal Service (USPS) with the Commerce Department.
"We want to have a post office that works well and doesn't lose massive amounts of money, and we're thinking about doing that, and will be a form of a merger, but it'll remain the Postal Service," Trump told the reporters at the White House.
His remarks came a day after The Washington Post reported that Trump is working to dissolve the leadership of the USPS, and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration.
"I think it'll operate a lot better than it has been over the years. It's been just a tremendous loser for this country," Trump added.
