Trump discusses relations with Chinese counterpart Xi over phone
'It is my expectation that we will solve many problems together, and starting immediately,' says US-president elect

US President-elect Donald Trump on Friday said he had "a very good" phone conversation with China's President Xi Jinping.
Trump announced his phone call with Xi on his Truth Social account, and expressed optimism about their ability to address critical issues collaboratively.
"The call was a very good one for both China and the U.S.A. It is my expectation that we will solve many problems together, and starting immediately," he said.
Trump said they discussed several key issues, including trade, fentanyl, and TikTok, among others.
"President Xi and I will do everything possible to make the World more peaceful and safe!" he added.
The phone conversation was also confirmed by Chinese state news agency Xinhua.
"As the most important countries in the world, the United States and China should get along well for years and beyond and work together for world peace," Trump said, according to Chinese foreign ministry.
Russia-Ukraine war and Israel’s war on Palestine were also discussed by the parties.
Taiwan was brought up by China, which reportedly said that the US should "approach it with prudence."
Trump expressed hopes to "keep talking to each other, and looked forward to meeting with President Xi soon."
However, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng will attend Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20 incident of Xi.
