Trump reveals F-47, first sixth-generation fighter jet
'Nothing in the world comes even close to it, and it'll be known as the F-47,' says US president

WASHINGTON
US President Donald Trump on Friday announced the Air Force is moving forward with the world's first sixth-generation fighter jet.
"Nothing in the world comes even close to it, and it'll be known as the F-47," Trump said at the White House, alongside Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Trump announced that Boeing has been selected to build the fighter jet.
"After a rigorous and thorough competition between some of America's top aerospace companies, the Air Force is going to be awarding the contract for the next generation air dominance platform to Boeing," he said.
The F-47 is equipped with state of the art stealth technologies, "virtually unseeable and unprecedented power," he said, revealing an experimental version of the plane has secretly been flying for almost five years.
"The 47 will be the most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built," he stressed.
Trump also said that a new fleet of F-47 jets will be built over the next couple of years.
"We've given an order for a lot. We can't tell you the price," he added.
