KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait

US President Donald Trump’s decisions “serve his own interests and impact global economies,” Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said Tuesday.

His comments came during his participation in the 2025 World Government Summit in Dubai.

The summit kicked off Tuesday with the theme “Shaping Future Governments” and runs until Feb. 13. It includes 30 heads of state and government, 140 governmental delegations, 400 ministers and 6,000 participants.

“We enjoyed the discussions during the panel on global economic trends, with participants addressing the risks of artificial intelligence and its impact on the world,” said Sheikh Ahmad.

But “there is one thing we must remember and pay attention to, as it will affect and shape the global economy in the coming period, and that is the influence of President Donald Trump and his future direction.”

“We must be mindful of this point because he makes decisions that serve his own interests. When we look at the global economy, there must be a response, and this response has already begun, as it will affect global economies,” he added, without providing further details.

Since returning to the White House on Jan. 20, Trump has made several controversial economic and political decisions, including tariff increases and plans to seize Gaza and relocate Palestinians to neighboring Arab countries.
