US President-elect Donald Trump will travel to Paris on Saturday to attend the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral in the French capital.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed his honor to participate in the event, praising French President Emmanuel Macron for restoring the cathedral "to its full level of glory."
The historic cathedral, which suffered a devastating fire in April 2019, has undergone five years of extensive restoration.
The reopening service will be presided over by the Archbishop of Paris, Laurent Ulrich, with attendance from French officials, donors and religious representatives, according to the cathedral's website.
The ceremonial events will run from Dec. 7-8, with additional cultural activities, including Bach concerts, scheduled through Dec. 15.
"It will be a very special day for all!" Trump said in his announcement.
