Turkish prefabricated house company Karmod has expanded its export portfolio to include the South American nation Argentina, marking the 137th country in its global reach, the company announced on Wednesday.

The shipment to Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, consisted of container offices and social housing units, which were produced using a bolt-and-nut assembly system that requires no welding, the company said.

These structures, manufactured with Karmod’s new-generation prefabrication technology, were shipped by sea and can be quickly assembled on-site, ready for occupancy.

The units exported to Argentina include 2.30x12-meter social housing units and 2.30x6-meter office spaces.

Hakan Durmaz, a member of Karmod’s board and also the company's sustainability manager, noted that the company has achieved significant export milestones in South America, following earlier shipments to Brazil and Mexico, both G20 nations.

“We are steadily progressing towards our goal of exporting to 140 countries,” Durmaz said.

“In the last two months, we added two more countries to our export list—Cape Verde in Africa, which became our 136th export destination, and Argentina, our 137th.”

Durmaz emphasized Karmod’s ambition to meet its 140-country export goal by the company's 40th anniversary next year.

"Since 1986, we have built our expertise and sustainable production practices with a target of 140 countries in exports,” he said and added: “I hope we will reach this target next year when we celebrate our 40th anniversary. We exported to almost all but a few countries in South America.”
