WASHINGTON 

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan received a high-level US official Friday for talks in Washington.

"Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan received Phil Gordon, National Security Advisor to U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, at the Turkish Embassy in Washington," the Turkish Foreign Ministry wrote on X.

Fidan is visiting the US where the Türkiye-U.S. Strategic Mechanism meeting was held.

He met Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss relations and international issues.

Regional issues, including the situation in the Gaza Strip, were on the agenda.
