Unless 'Loser' Powell cuts rates, US economy to slow, Trump says
US president expresses his dissatisfaction with Fed governor's performance, declaring if he asked him to leave office, he would do so immediately

ISTANBUL
US President Donald Trump has continued to put pressure on Fed Governor Jerome Powell, saying the US economy may slow unless "Mr. Too Late, a major loser, lowers interest rates."
Energy costs have fallen, food prices have dropped, and most other prices have decreased; there is virtually no inflation, Trump said on Truth Social on Monday.
"With these costs trending so nicely downward, just what I predicted they would do, there can almost be no inflation," he stressed.
He said: "Powell has always been 'To Late,' except when it came to the Election period when he lowered in order to help Sleepy Joe Biden, later Kamala, get elected."
Last week, Trump also criticized Powell for being “late” in lowering the interest rate.
Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Powell's performance and declared that if he asked him to leave office, he would do so immediately.
