US Secretary of State, Jordan's prime minister discuss Gaza, West Bank
Marco Rubio and Jafar Hassan also discuss cooperation in 'advancing regional security'

WASHINGTON
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Jordanian Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Jafar Hassan on Tuesday to discuss regional developments and bilateral cooperation, according to a statement from the State Department.
The two discussed the situation in Gaza and the West Bank as well as cooperation in "advancing regional security." They also explored opportunities to expand economic cooperation and increase US investment in Jordan, the statement said.
"Secretary Rubio thanked Prime Minister Hassan for Jordan’s cooperation with the United States in advancing regional security," it added.
In a post on X following the meeting, Hassan expressed appreciation for Washington’s support.
"Highly appreciative of the commitment and support of @SecRubio and the United States of America for Jordan’s security, economic modernization vision and development programs,” he wrote.
“The friendship between our two countries is based on our long-shared principles and common interests in peace, regional stability and prosperity.”
