US stock exchanges opened with gains on Thursday.
The Dow Jones jumped 131 points, or 0.4%, to 32,930 at 9.33 a.m. EDT (1433GMT). The blue-chip index ended the previous day with losses.
The S&P 500 rose 7 points, or 0.19%, to 3,999. The tech-heavy Nasdaq was up 5 points, or 0.05%, to 11,581 at the time.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 0.4% to 19.18, while the 10-year US Treasury yield decreased 0.2% to 3.968%.
The dollar index fell 0.3% to 105.33, while the euro added 0.25% to $1.0570 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in positive territory, with gold adding 0.7% to $1,827 per ounce and silver rising 0.5% to $20.13.
Oil prices were up around 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $83.49 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $77.40.
