Iran's parliamentary speaker said Wednesday that the U.S. had transferred Daesh militants to Afghanistan.
Ali Larijani said the U.S provides support to terrorist organizations in the region during a meeting held in capital Tehran with David McAllister, the chair of the EU Committee on Foreign Affairs, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported.
“The base of the terrorism in Afghanistan was laid by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the help of US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) 30 years ago,” Larijani said.
Stating that terrorist organizations will threaten the U.S. in the future, Larijani said: “The U.S. transferred Daesh militants to Afghanistan using helicopters.”
Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, said in his speech on Jan. 30 that the U.S. orchestrated the attacks which took place recently in Afghanistan and in which hundreds of people were killed.
He also said the U.S. was transferring Daesh militants to Afghanistan.
