WASHINGTON

U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford met his Turkish counterpart Gen. Hulusi Akar on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Brussels Wednesday, according to the Pentagon.

Pentagon spokesman Col. Patrick Ryder said: "The U.S. and Turkey enjoy a strong military-to-military relationship as key members of the NATO alliance," he added.

Both military leaders discussed Syria and the Middle East region, he added.
