WASHINGTON
US Vice President-elect JD Vance met with his Chinese counterpart Han Zheng Sunday to address several bilateral issues.
Vance and Han "discussed a range of topics including fentanyl, balancing trade, and regional stability," the Trump transition team said.
The meeting took place a day before the swearing-in ceremonies for Vance and President-elect Donald Trump.
It also comes after Trump said Friday that he spoke to China's President Xi Jinping.
"The call was a very good one for both China and the U.S.A. It is my expectation that we will solve many problems together, and starting immediately," Trump said on Truth Social.
He said they discussed balancing trade, fentanyl, TikTok, and many other subjects, adding, "President Xi and I will do everything possible to make the World more peaceful and safe!"
