Vehicle fire disrupts access to Baltimore-Washington International Airport
Airport says no injuries reported, confirms fire extinguished

HAMILTON, Canada
A vehicle fire Monday at Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) in the US state of Maryland disrupted operations near the departure area, triggering an emergency response and temporary access restrictions.
“One lane of lower level terminal roadway is open as a result of a vehicle fire near Door 14,” the airport said in a post on X.
BWI confirmed the fire had been extinguished and reported no injuries.
“Airport parking shuttles are temporarily operating on the Upper Level roadway as scene clean-up continues,” the airport added.
Ventilation fans were set up to clear lingering smoke from the lower terminal level, according to the update, which included photos from the site.
Footage circulating on social media showed flames and thick smoke rising near the terminal entrance.
