Hezbollah says senior commander killed in Beirut, points finger at Israel
Hezbollah accuses Israel for the killing, noting that the self-proclaimed Jewish state had made several previous unsuccessful attempts to kill al-Laqees.
Lebanese militant group Hezbollah on Wednesday said that one of its commanders had been killed outside his Beirut home, going on to blame Israel for the assassination.
"At about 12am, Islamic resistance commander Hassan al-Laqees was assassinated outside his home in San Terez as he returned from work," a group spokesman said Wednesday.
Hezbollah went on to accuse Israel of being responsible for the killing, noting that the self-proclaimed Jewish state had made several previous unsuccessful attempts to kill al-Laqees.
Israel bears full responsibility for the assassination and will suffer the consequences, the group asserted.
