NBC UNIVERSAL CHANNEL SET TO LAUNCH BROADCASTS IN TURKEY

ISTANBUL - Universal Channel, owned by U.S. entertainment conglomerate NBC Universal Global Networks, is set to make its debut in Turkey on Thursday.

NBC UNIVERSAL CHANNEL SET TO LAUNCH BROADCASTS IN TURKEY

Universal Channel, a television channel specializing in movies and television series in the thriller, drama, horror, crime and investigation genres, joined D-Smart digital satellite platform, a Dogan Holding company.
The channel will bring viewers popular TV series such as 30 Rock, House, Law & Order, The Office, Flipping Out and Monk, as well as big-budget Hollywood productions and blockbuster movies. 
Colin McLeod, Managing Director (Central & Eastern Europe) of NBC Universal Global Networks, said launch of Universal Channel in Turkey was a big step for company's expansion in emerging markets.
McLeod said Global Networks International channels have been broadcasting in 130 countries for more than 150 million viewers, adding that Central and Eastern Europe was the center of company's growth strategy.
Stating that the company would bring other brands to Turkey, McLeod said there was a serious demand for Syfy channel that specializes in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and paranormal programming.
