SOCCER: GALATASARAY SIGN MANCHESTER CITY'S BRAZILIAN STAR
ISTANBUL - Turkcell Super League team Galatasaray signed Premier League side Manchester City's Brazilian star Elano Blumer, the club said on Wednesday.

"Elano is a playmaker, who has the ability to play anywhere down the right flank or the center. He also has the ability to score from distance," the club said.
Elano played 35 international games with Brazilian national team despite several midfielder stars in his team such as Kaka, Ronaldinho, Diego and Juninho. He scored six international goals.
Before Manchester City, Elano played for Santos and Shakthar Donetsk. He played 62 league games with Manchester City and scored 14 times in two seasons.
Elano will come to Istanbul on Friday, the club added.
After a bad season last year, Galatasaray signed several important names to fortify their squad. Frank Rijkaard was brought in to coach the team. The Istanbul side later signed goalkeeper Leo Franco from Atletico Madrid and winger Abdul Kader Keita from Lyon.
