Ninety-six people, including 23 children and 6 women, were killed on Friday in a series of air and land strikes staged by the Syrian regime, acivists said.
Syrian regime forces killed 37 in the suburbs of capital Damascus, 27 in Aleppo, 17 in Homs, seven in Daraa, four in Idlib, three in Deir-ez Zor and one in Hama, said the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR), a London-based group which tracks civilian and dissident casualties.
Syrian National Council reported that Assad regime forces attacked the opposition controlled areas of Douma, Yermouk, Darayya, Berze, Kabun and Jobar with mortar shells and rockets.
Syrian official news agency (SANA) reported that regime forces defused armed groups and destroyed their vehicles in the operations held countrywide.
