TURKISH ADMINISTRATION TO RECEIVE GALATASARAY STADIUM BIDS END JULY

The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) will collect the bids for construction of Turkish first division soccer team Galatasaray in Seyrantepe neighborhood of Istanbul on July 27.
Earlier, the administration asked the companies to submit bids together with files promoting them till July 17.
The TOKI authorities decided to directly receive the bids on July 27 not to lose time because there will not be a pre-elimination.
The tender will be transparent, but not international. However, Turkish and foreign construction companies or consortia can join it. The bids will be submitted in Turkish.
A tender committee will open the bids as of 3 p.m. on July 27.
The winner will deposit 5 percent of its offer to TOKI till the day the contract will be signed.
The contractor will be handed over Galatasaray's Ali Sami Yen Stadium in Mecidiyekoy neighborhood of Istanbul 120 days before the construction of the new stadium ends.
In August 2007, the Eren Talu-Alke joint venture submitted the lowest bid and won the tender for construction of the Seyrantepe Sports Complex, which will replace Galatasaray's actual Ali Sami Yen Stadium.
The foundation of the new sports complex was laid on December 13, 2007. The Eren Talu-Alke firm committed to build the complex within 24 months.
On July 2, the TOKI annulled a contract with Eren Talu-Alke joint venture on Thursday for the contractor had not fulfilled its obligations within the given period.
The Aslantepe stadium with a retractable roof panel will have a capacity to host 52,000 spectators, and will approximately cost 130 million Euros. There will be a parking lot for a total of 4,500 vehicles, including a closed parking lot for 3,000 cars.
