Turkish dailies on Monday covered Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's messages in Adana and Ankara, where he returned after 12 days, about ongoing Gezi Park protests in several provinces of Turkey, former CIA employee's revealing himself as the primary source of highly classified US telephone and Internet surveillance systems to British media, agreement between US President Barack Obama and China's President Xi Jinping on fight against global warming Iraqi President Nouri Maliki's visit to Irbil, capital of regional administration of north ıof Iraq.

All Turkish dailies on Monday covered Prime Minister Erdogan's call for end to protests in his first speech in Ankara after 12 days. Daily MILLIYET headlined, "Prime minister spoke very harshly in Ankara: 'We are running out of patience'", quoting Erdogan as saying "I say, instead of going to Gezi (Istanbul), Kugulu (Ankara) parks, be patient for 7 months, and let us make terms at the ballot box.". Daily HURRIYET headlined "Looks like janisarry", referring to Erdogan's likening of the protesters and the artists in support of them to "janisarry", Ottoman Sultan's household troops and bodyguards which rebelled against the Sultan from time to time, and quoted him as saying "Either reconcile or we talk in a way that you understand". Daily STAR headlined "Erdogan challenged interest lobby" and quoted Erdogan at Adana meeting, his last stop before arriving in Ankara, as saying, "Those who do not want to see a strong Turkey, you challenged us by initiating struggle against us, you will pay a high price for it." While daily CUMHURIYET covered the reaction by the protesters at Gezi Park during Erdogan's speeches, and headlined " Flood of 'chapullers' ", referring to Erdogan's naming the protesters as "capulcu", a Turkish word, which means "the person that ruins the order", and came to be a neologism in English, publishing hundreds of thousands marched into Taksim square on Sunday, as Erdogan continued to call them "capulcu".

Daily VATAN headlined "US's eyes on us", while daily MILLIYET titled "US is watching us", and published, The Guardian propounded that the US National Security Agency (NSA) monitored all the world including Turkey, through a software program called Prism, albeit at a middle level. Daily HURRIYET published, the leaker, a former CIA employee Edward Snowden, fled to Hong Kong after revealing himself as the primary source of highly classified US telephone and internet surveillance systems to The Guardian. Daily TARAF titled "No limit in intelligence", and published that in one month 3 million data were obtained, mostly on Iran, Pakistan and Jordan, while Turkey ranked among mid-level intelligence-gathered countries according to the NSA map. Daily AKSAM headlined "Big Brother monitored the world", and published that a point worth attention was that The Guardian also revealed that the NSA's lying to the Congress, defining the monitoring as "technically impossible", referring to last week's testimony, when the verdict allowing the monitoring was first diclosed.
- US and China's step on counter-global warming
Daily MILLIYET published that the US and China, responsible of approximately half of world's greenhouse gas emission, for the first time decided to cooperate to reduce it. Daily TARAF titled "All for a world without gas", publishing that the 2-day meetings in California, US produced an important step for environment as US and China agreed to phase down the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbons. Daily SABAH also covered the US and China's coming close to each other on their stances towards North Korea's nuclear threats, while not reaching an agreement on cyber-security.
- Maliki's visit to Irbil
Daily MILLIYET covered Iraqi President Maliki's visit to capital of regional administration in north of Iraq, Irbil, where he gathered the cabinet to mainly discuss the stalled oil law. Daily HURRIYET titled "Spring comes to Iraq" and published that Maliki and president of regional administration in north of Iraq Massoud Barzani gave friendship messages after coming to brink of war due to 2 years of dispute about oil and territory. Daily TARAF quoted Barzani as saying, "We agreed to work for brotherly solution of the problems, and will resort to the constitution in case of any deadlock." Daily AKSAM headlined "Olive branch from Maliki to Barzani", publishing Maliki as saying " I am very grateful to hold this meeting in Irbil, this visit will be the first step towards ending all disputes."
