Yemeni planes pounded sites of Shiite Houthi militants in the eastern province of Ma'rib on Saturday, a local official said.
"Military planes conducted three airstrikes on a school where Houthi militants were holed up," the official, requesting anonymity, told Anadolu Agency.
According to the official, a 30-vehicle convoy of Houthi militants had arrived in the province from the neighboring Al-Jawf province for plotting attacks.
In recent weeks, the Yemeni army and allied tribesmen have been battling Houthi militants in Ma'rib and Al-Jawf provinces.
Local tribesmen accuse the Houthis of attempting to seize control of their territories.
Houthis have been staging mass protests in the capital Sanaa since August to demand the dismissal of Prime Minister Mohamed Basindawa's government and the reversal of a recent government decision to slash fuel subsidies.
Violence flared up in Sanaa earlier this week between Houthi militants and army troops, leaving scores of people dead.
Yemen has been dogged by unrest since a popular uprising that began in 2011 ousted longstanding president Ali Abdullah Saleh one year later.
