‘Non-explosive’ object dropped by air force aircraft damages house in central India
No injuries reported from incident in Shivpuri area of Madhya Pradesh state, which authorities say is being investigated

NEW DELHI
A house was damaged after an object fell from an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, with no reported injuries.
"The IAF regrets the damage caused today to property on ground, near Shivpuri, by the inadvertent drop of a non-explosive aerial store from an IAF aircraft, and has instituted an inquiry into the incident," the air force said in a brief statement on X.
Aman Singh Rathor, a senior police official, said on social media that “a heavy metal object fell from the sky from an Air Force jet on the house of Manoj Sagar,” damaging two outer rooms.
“There were four members in the house, all are safe. A team of police and administrative officials is on the spot. The incident is being investigated in coordination with the Air Force and other agencies," Rathor said, according to the daily Hindustan Times.
