ANKARA 

An unidentified assailant opened fire on people in Sri Lanka on Sunday night, according to local media reports.

According to the Colombo-based Sunday Times, the late-night shooting happened near a Roman Catholic school in the Hanwella area, around 30 kilometers (17 miles) from the island nation's capital.

Two people died in the shooting, with the alleged gunman reportedly using a motorcycle and assault rifle in the attack the report said.

The victims have been identified as two men, one 43 and another 32 years..
