Afghanistan bans TikTok as it 'misleads the younger generation'
Taliban administration also blocks popular South Korean PUBG battle game
ISTANBUL
The Taliban-led interim government in Afghanistan on Thursday banned the social media app TikTok as part of a drive to block "immoral" content.
TikTok "misleads the younger generation," Inamullah Samangani, the deputy spokesperson of the interim administration, announced in a brief statement on Twitter.
Popular South Korean PUBG battle game has also been blocked, he said, adding that Afghan television channels should be prevented from airing "immoral" material and programs "as much as possible."
The Communications and IT Ministry will implement the decisions taken by the Cabinet, Samangani said.
