Azerbaijan starts using Armenian airspace
Flight via Armenian airspace saves time and fuel, says Azerbaijan Airlines
BAKU, Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has started using Armenian airspace for flights to the Nakhchivan region, the country’s airline, AZAL, announced on Wednesday.
Through this step, Azerbaijan has shown its deterrence in keeping all transportation routes, Azerbaijan Airlines said in a statement.
The flight via Armenian airspace will save time and fuel, the AZAL said, noting that the company uses all airspaces, including the Iranian and Armenian.
Azerbaijan has previously refused to use Armenian airspace because of the Upper Karabakh dispute between the two countries.
