China launches satellite for tech experiments
Space probe reaches intended orbit after launched on Long March-2D rocket, marking 498th mission

ISTANBUL
China on Thursday successfully deployed a satellite for technology experiments related to satellite internet from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan.
The satellite, launched at 6 p.m. Beijing time (1000GMT) on a Long March-2D carrier rocket, reached its intended orbit, according to a statement by China's State Council.
This mission marks the 498th launch in the Long March carrier rocket series.
